Review: White Stag
White Stag by Kara Barbieri
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Story: I've been excited to read this book for a very long time. I've had some bad luck with books I've been excited about not really meeting their expectations lately. Luckily, this wasn't one of those. It actually exceeded my expectations greatly. I loved how even though it was a dark fantasy, it was filled with hope and love. I also got my sarcastic main character in there was well. I can't resist reading books with those.
Characters: Janneke quickly became one of my favorite characters of all time. At least most of the time. There were times I wanted to shake her and tell her to pull herself together, but I have times like that about many people. Including myself. She's just so realistic. I think many people can identify with her.
Critiques: None
Narration: I really enjoyed the narrator that read this book. I didn't listen to it all. I went back and forth reading it in ebook and listening to it in audiobook. It really made the reading experience very enjoyable.
Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book very much. I'm actually looking forward to reading the next book. If I didn't have one book ahead of the second book, I'd be diving into it right now. I already planned to read the one I'm starting next though. I'm so excited for book two!!!!

Review: The Cellar
The Cellar by Natasha Preston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Summer has plans to go to an event with her friends. It's supposed to be a normal night in a normal town, but it ends in disaster. While Summer is searching for a friend who has stormed off after a fight with her boyfriend, she gets kidnapped by a deranged man who won't stop calling her Lilly. She discovers that she is not the first girl he's kidnapped. Can her and the other girls be found before it's too late? Or are they forced to spend their lives in the cellar of a creepy psycho?
I really enjoyed this book! It was wonderfully written. It definitely kept me on edge for many parts of it. For any crime show fans, it was like reading one of them. There are multiple points of view. I didn't find that distracting at all. In fact, I felt it gave more intensity to the book. I especially loved reading the kidnapper's points of views. i stumbled upon this book when I was searching a sale after my birthday. I'm glad I did. I'll be looking into other books by this author. I loved it and I fully recommend it!
